Virtual reality (VR) startup AmazeVR collaborated with music label Hybe Co. to premiere a VR concert for Korean pop group Tomorrow X Together (TXT) in Seoul on Tuesday, the group¡¯s first VR concert. The advantage of VR concerts is the ability to employ technologies that are difficult to showcase on a live stage. One example is the TXT members appearing along with huge pillars of light. ¡°We created a more dynamic VR concert using advanced technology and stronger storytelling,¡± AmazeVR chief executive officer Lee Seung-joon said. To make the artists appear as if they are right in front of the audience, AmazeVR uses hyper-real 9K+ live-action filming, Unreal Engine-based VR visual effects, AI-powered relighting, AI keying, and a distributed rendering system. AmazeVR is continuously expanding its reach and is planning to bring TXT¡¯s VR concert to five U.S. cities: Los Angeles, Buena Park, Houston, Chicago, and New York. AmazeVR has also partnered with major entertainment companies such as SM Entertainment Co., Warner Records Inc., and Sony Music Entertainment to create similar programs for artists including aespa, KAI, and Megan Thee Stallion. It also released the AmazeVR Concert Application for Apple¡¯s Vision Pro.
